The Indonesia Cyber Awareness and Resilience Center at Universitas Indonesia (idCARE.UI), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted a specialized training titled Cybersecurity Awareness & Risk Management from April 10–17, 2025. Held at the i-CELL Building, Faculty of Engineering UI, the program was offered free of charge and focused on enhancing top-level management awareness of cybersecurity issues. The participants, including delegates from Bangladesh, were engaged in comprehensive modules covering decision-makers' perspectives, cyberattack trends, risk management strategies, and effective reporting methods.
The program commenced with opening remarks from Project Local Coordinator Ms. Amelia, idCARE Director Prof. Arief Udhiarto, and JICA Chief Advisor Mr. Hiroyuki Ide. Throughout the sessions, participants underwent theoretical and practical learning activities, including group discussions, simulations, and a final mock training. The second day emphasized communicating cybersecurity urgency to executives, led by Mr. Victor Arief Maulana, and concluded with a Networking Dinner to foster international collaboration.
This training initiative is part of a broader strategic partnership between JICA and idCARE to strengthen cybersecurity capacities across partner nations. "Building digital resilience starts with strong leadership awareness," stated Prof. Arief. Echoing this, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, Dean of FTUI, affirmed, "Cybersecurity is a global priority, and higher education institutions play a vital role in preparing human resources to meet these challenges."
