
Following the successful launch in Palembang, the second batch of the Entry Level Data Protection Officer training unfolded from July 15 to 16, 2025, at the elegant Patra Cirebon Hotel & Convention. This cohort, comprising 33 representatives from the Indonesian Attorney General's Office and 14 from Pertamina Group, continued the vital mission of enhancing data protection capabilities under the banner of IdCARE.UI and ILUNI UI's collaborative initiative. The opening ceremony on July 15th was a formal affair, with inspiring speeches from Bapak Ahmad Fitrianto, Secretary-General of ILUNI UI, and high-level officials from Pertamina Corporate University and the Attorney General's Office, including Mr. Yulius S. Bulo and Mr. Sila H. Pulungan, underscoring the national importance of this training.
Participants immersed themselves in a dynamic curriculum, beginning with pre-tests to gauge their initial understanding, followed by in-depth sessions on the Personal Data Protection Law, principles and roles in data processing, and advanced strategies for managing personal data. The program also heavily focused on risk management within data processing, equipping attendees with practical skills to navigate complex data security challenges. Each day was meticulously structured to balance theoretical knowledge with practical application, culminating in post-tests to reinforce learning and ensure retention.
The Cirebon batch demonstrated an unwavering commitment to developing skilled data protection professionals, further cementing the success of the partnership forged by IdCARE.UI and ILUNI UI. The collaborative atmosphere, facilitated by expert trainers and facilitators, created an ideal environment for knowledge exchange and professional growth. As certificates were distributed to the empowered participants, it was evident that Indonesia's ranks of data protection champions were growing stronger, prepared to implement robust data privacy frameworks across their respective institutions.
