On Thursday, 17 October 2024, IdCARE.UI signed a cooperation agreement with the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) during the AJCCA Conference and Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW2024). This agreement allows IDCare.UI to join the ASEAN Cybersecurity Community Alliance, aiming to contribute to enhancing cybersecurity capacity throughout the ASEAN region. This collaboration is a significant step towards addressing the ongoing challenges in cybersecurity that affect member nations.
The conference began with an address by Singapore's Minister for Digital Development and Information, Ms. Rahayu Mahzam. In her speech, she highlighted the critical role of the cybersecurity community in confronting increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Minister Rahayu also commended the cross-border collaborations that have been established, emphasizing their importance in fostering a cohesive response to regional security challenges.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the AJCCA Cyber Resilience Award (ACRA) to representatives from each participating country. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng., a member of the advisory board of IdCARE.UI, received this prestigious award on behalf of Indonesia. The recognition signifies the acknowledgment from the ASEAN cybersecurity community of Professor Ramli’s contributions and IdCARE.UI's commitment to advancing cybersecurity in the region.
Additionally, Mr. Sasaki, a member of Japan's National Cyber Security Council (NISC), attended the event and praised the remarkable contributions of the ASEAN-Japan cybersecurity community. He underscored the necessity of cross-border cooperation in addressing the increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges and applauded the dedication of award recipients who have enhanced regional cybersecurity resilience.
The partnership between IdCARE.UI and AJCCA is expected to motivate IdCARE.UI to engage more actively in collaborative efforts to improve cybersecurity capacity, not only at the domestic level but also internationally, particularly among ASEAN countries. Congratulations are extended to Professor Kalamullah Ramli, IDCare.UI, and the leadership team and entire DTE FTUI family for their steadfast support in this important endeavor.
