The final and equally impactful fourth batch of the Entry Level Data Protection Officer training successfully concluded from August 12 to 13, 2025, at the prestigious DoubleTree Hilton in Surabaya, East Java. This culminating session gathered 39 participants from the Indonesian Attorney General's Office and 15 from Pertamina Group, marking the completion of a nationwide initiative to cultivate skilled data protection professionals through the collaborative efforts of IdCARE.UI and ILUNI UI. The opening ceremony on August 12th was a high-profile event, featuring speeches from Mr. Ahmad Fitrianto, Secretary-General of ILUNI UI, Mr. Rifky Rakhman Yusuf from Pertamina, and Mr. Edy Birton from the Attorney General's Office, all reiterating the paramount importance of data privacy in contemporary society.
Over two days, the Surabaya batch meticulously covered the core modules of data protection, including the policy framework of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP), the principles and management of roles in data processing, comprehensive personal data management, and strategic approaches to data processing risk management. Interactive pre-tests and post-tests throughout the training ensured that every participant solidified their understanding. A particularly engaging element was the distribution of prizes, adding an exciting dimension to the learning experience, alongside another insightful site visit to Pertamina on the final day.
The successful completion of the Surabaya batch, and indeed the entire four-batch training series, stands as a monumental achievement, largely propelled by the vision and partnership of IdCARE.UI and ILUNI UI. This initiative has not only equipped professionals with critical skills but has also fostered a community dedicated to upholding data privacy, ensuring a safer and more trustworthy digital future for all Indonesians.
