From November 25-26, 2024, IDCare.UI, in collaboration with the Direktorat Sistem Teknologi Informasi (DSTI) Universitas Indonesia, successfully conducted the Understanding Cisco Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals (CBROPS) Training. This program was designed to equip IT staff from various faculties of Universitas Indonesia and IT staff from Pusat Administrasi Universitas Indonesia with essential cybersecurity skills. The training was attended by 36 participants and led by Mr. Elvian Syafrurizal and Mr. Yan Maraden, both esteemed lecturers from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia.

This training provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of security concepts, common network and application operations, various types of cyberattacks, and the data necessary for investigating security incidents. Participants learned how to monitor security alerts and breaches, as well as follow established protocols for incident response. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on labs, and self-study, they gained the fundamental skills required to operate within a Cybersecurity Operations Center (SOC), including an understanding of IT infrastructure, security operations, and potential vulnerabilities.

The CBROPS training also serves as a preparatory course for the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification, equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to take on roles as Junior or Entry-Level Cybersecurity Operations Analysts in a SOC. Additionally, participants who completed this training earned 30 Continuing Education (CE) credits toward recertification, further enhancing their professional development in cybersecurity.

By hosting this training, IDCare.UI and DSTI UI reaffirm their commitment to strengthening cybersecurity expertise among IT professionals at Universitas Indonesia. This initiative contributes to building a more secure digital infrastructure within the university and ensures that IT staff are well-prepared to handle emerging cybersecurity challenges. Moving forward, both institutions aim to continue providing advanced cybersecurity training to further enhance digital security resilience.
